Samaras and Obama,The Composers of a Magnificent Deal!

          Less than  24 Hours,Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic,Antonis Samaras will meet with U.S. President  Barack Obama. Can we expect something  from this meeting? After Alexis Tsipras speech and talks at Brookings,sometime in last January I posted an article about him on my blog ( http://argolidapost.blogspot.gr/2013_01_01_archive.html) .In the conclusion of that article I stated the following : ” The most sense for the Obama administration is to strengthen the argument of the Government By Antonis Samaras towards the German and European  demands and strengthen the geopolitical position of Greece  opposite  Turkey anticipating the time when Greece will go out to the markets  and will be able to move more comfortable in the geopolitical and geo-economic game. After all ,strengthening the arc of Greece-Cyprus-Israel against the failed experiment of the Arab Spring has more long-term benefits for the U.S..”

           It's flattering  to me  that  the U.S. government essentially has followed my advice ,but let us consider where we are today.Everyone knows the dire financial position of Greece in the last three years. At the same time, however, we all know the  constant  GEOPOLITICAL value of Greece as a rock of stability and peace in South Eastern Mediterranean. After the failure of the Arab Spring and the disclosure of the hidden Islamist agenda of Turkish Prime Minister   Recep   Tayyip  Erdoğan    there are formed different equations on the chessboard of Diplomacy.

          Due to the above, Greece is upgraded geopolitically, while concurrently ,  Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP)  renders Greece as a partner in the energy map of the world. At the same time the current memorandum of cooperation between Israel, Cyprus and Greece essentially creates an unshakable geopolitical basis on which the Energy Policy of USA in the Mediterranean  region  ,can and should be based. The Creation of partnership between the three Mediterranean countries in which U.S. companies will offer expertise could be the beginning of the solution to the financial problems  in  the Eurozone. U.S. pressure on Germany through the IMF, now with this partnership can be toughest, Since the moment that German companies will be excluded from this energy adventure. If Angela Merkel changes policy, a way can be find so that Germany  participates  in the “game”. Otherwise, Angela will have to find other energy sources for her  Industries.

          With regard to Turkey, if  Erdogan  rectify the situation that he created, either there is another successor in his party  (JDP) can undertake the transportation of oil of Lebanon and Syria since there is a compromise on the issue of Assad. The Russian vent to the Mediterranean through the port of Alexandroupolis and Russia's participation in regional pipelines in the Balkans may resolve the issue of Syria. Provided that Putin extradite Snowden to  U.S. and the warring sides in Syria are pressed for compromise.

          Now in terms of the Skopje issue,   U.S. should understand   that  the concessions of Greeks have reached the end. The obstacles are found in the insane and ignorant irredentism  of  Nikola Gruevski which is a factor of instability in the Balkans. Once he loves so much Ancient Greek History, the International Community should adopt the tactics of the Ancient City-States and to name this state, The State of Skopje  ,  erga omnes!!!

          After many years the Circumstances and Interests of Greece and the U.S. are Intersected on Fertile Geopolitical and Geo-economic Point. Let us hope Prime Minister Samaras and President Obama by their staffs to see this Point. I ,from my part ,did everything I could ,without Reward and Recognition!
